IN LOVING MEMORY OF
April
Baker
September 17, 1986 – August 31, 2021
April Baker was born September 17, 1986, to Michael and Robin Diaz. She was the third of four children. April was a joyful child who loved school and was a straight-A student. She graduated from Sultana High School in Hesperia California in 2004.
Growing up with strong Christian parents, April developed her love for Christ at an early age. After studying out God's Word, she made the decision for Jesus to be her Lord & Savior and was baptized into Christ for the forgiveness of her sins on June 22, 2009. After several years, April grew stronger in the Lord, became a leader in her church, and on March 1, 2015, married the love of her life, ME – R.D. Baker, a preacher with experience planting and building churches in the Middle East. Soon, April joined me in the mission to take the Good News to a land where it was not known, planting the Dubai International Christian Church in September of 2016. There, we led a powerful group of disciples of Christ for two years, a church that is still a strong pillar in the Persian Gulf.
Returning to the U.S. in 2018, we continued to lead churches in Los Angeles, both in Ventura and West L.A. and a large marrieds ministry until April's passing.
In her role, April was able to complete her bachelor's degree in ministry from the International College of Christian Ministries. This allowed her to speak all over the world, in places like Hawaii, Manila, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Moscow, Kiev, Phoenix, Albuquerque, San Diego, Denver, Portland, Dubai, and Los Angeles. She not only impacted her hometown, April truly impacted a generation for Jesus all over the world and her impact continues to be felt today.
April was a passionate, loving, deeply-faithful, serving, and loyal soul – who loved deeply and gave deeply. "Vivacious" was a word many often used to describe her. She lived her life at triple speed, squeezing every ounce of time into her 34 years of life. She loved her family and friends dearly out of her deep love for people, and never hesitated to invest her life into others. She served the Lord well and, as a good and faithful servant, she answered his call to return home to him on August 31, 2021.
She is preceded in death by her grandmother Shelby Grier, grandfathers Frank Ramirez and Nacho Diaz. April leaves to cherish her husband R.D. Baker, mother Robin Ramirez, father Michael Diaz Sr., grandmother Auxiliadora Ascan, two sisters Jennifer Diaz and Celina Diaz, her brother Michael Diaz, sisters in-law Teresa Harrington, Becky Sanchez and Lovenia Diaz Murphy, nephews Christopher and Paccelli, nieces Mariah and Frankie, and a host cousins, relatives, and friends.
