Obituary


Berry Lee Dupree Millsap (known as Dupree) was born into this world in Barrow County Winder, Georgia on June 9th, 1930 to the parents of Berry and Lula Millsap (who were farmers). To this union were born 8 children; Sons: Joe (deceased), William Douglas (deceased) and Pastor Walter W.; Daughters: Lourina Tate (Deceased), Inell Allen (Deceased), Cammie Whitehead (deceased) and LulaMae Cooper (deceased).

Dupree married Fannie Louise Battle on December 25, 1948. They were married for 54 years, until her death in June of 2002. To this union were born 4 daughters: Katrina Moore (deceased), Marshell Johnson (deceased), Deborah Debose and Minister Brenda Norman-Adams. Dupree and his family, along with his brother Walter, left Chattanooga, Tennessee and moved to Los Angeles, CA in 1957. After a number of years, the family moved to Compton, CA.

Dupree was an ordained Deacon and a member of Sadoc Christian Church Pastored by his brother Walter W. and wife Michelene Millsap. Dupree loved to sing old spiritual hymns and would start every morning service by saying "CHURCH TIME". Dupree worked tirelessly and faithfully at Sadoc until he was no longer able to.

Dupree worked for the city of Compton as a custodian for the Dollar Hide Senior Center until he retired after many years of service. Some of his joys in life were bowling and hearing good Preaching.

The Father called his faithful son home on January 13th, 2017 at 7:07pm. He leaves to cherish his memories and carry on the work of the Lord: his daughters Prophetess Deborah Debose and Minister Brenda Norman-Adams (Harvey); brother Pastor Walter W. Millsap, sister-in-law Michelene Millsap; grandchildren: Lourina Alexander, Barry and David Millsap, Isaac Lewis, Chasity Jones (Tony), Matthew Mosley (Tobi), Shunan Mosley, Danyelle Ennis (Miranda), Julius Moore, Maurice Norman (Jaclyn), Mary Moore, Elonda Hall (Charles), Fenda Norman, Jennifer and Christinne Henderson, Gengle Debose, Janice Moglothin (Terrell), Christopher and Peter Couch, Kelly Adams and Victoria Debose; 39 great-grandchildren and 6 great great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephew, brothers and sisters in Christ and dear friends.
