Viewing will be Monday, March 17, from 1-6pm at Long Beach Coloial Mortuary.

Services will be held Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at 11am at Central Baptist Church 1641 E. Carson St. Carson, CA.

Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park 4471 Lincoln Ave. Cypress, CA.



Obituary

Cleveland Yvonne Callahan was born January 23, 1926 in Covington, Louisiana to Cleveland Bailey and Ethel Howard. She was the eldest of her only sister Alberta Howard-Roy.

Cleveland graduated from Hammond High School. She accepted Christ at an early age and always acknowledged to everyone that was where her strength came from.

Cleveland was joined in marriage to Louis Clifton Callahan, Sr. and through their marriage five children were born; one daughter Evelyn Callahan-Gibson, Louis Callahan, Jr., Allen Devore Callahan, Robert Steven Callahan and Andre Tyrone Callahan. They were also blessed with six grandchildren; Daongala Gibson, Aziz Gibson (Tasha), Ubaid Gibson (Michele), Emma Mosley (Milton) and Haneefa Gibson.

Cleveland was preceded in death by her husband Louis Callahan, Sr., mother Ethel McLaurin, sons Louis Callahan, Jr. and Robert Callahan and granddaughter Jeseka Callahan.

She leaves to cherish her in loving memory; three children Evelyn, Allen and Andre; sister Alberta Roy; her nightly phone partner in California Nancy Callahan and in Louisiana Beverly Callahan; grandchildren and great grandchildren Tyler, LaDonte, Shaakirah, Alexa, Chelse, Jerrett, Juan, Nadya, Kennedy, Milton, Maurice and one great great grandchild Maliyah; nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
