Codi Dreaux Broadus-Polk was born on February 28, 2025, in Los Angeles, California, to Cori Broadus and Wayne Polk Jr. She was their first and only baby that touched the lives of so many.

Codi entered this world early and faced challenges, adversities, and setback after setback, yet she met each one with extraordinary strength. Time and time again, she pushed through as if nothing was wrong. Though tiny, she was mighty, with the heart and strength of a lion. In her short time on this earth, she endured more than most, fought bravely, and amazed doctors and nurses alike as she bounced back each time. Through it all, she continued to smile, showing her feisty spirit and incredible resilience.

She spent most of her life in a hospital, where she was surrounded by compassionate nurses that cared for her and quickly became loved. She was strong, mighty, and a true force to be reckoned with. She loved music, enjoyed dancing, and was delightfully silly, with a personality that could fill every room. She was also incredibly beautiful, with big, beautiful eyes that captured hearts and brought joy to everyone who saw them. Even at such a young age, she encouraged and inspired so many, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Although we wish she could still be here with us, we take comfort in knowing that heaven couldn’t wait for her. She will be deeply and truly missed by all.

Codi’s love lives on in the heart of her mother, Cori Broadus; father, Dwayne Polk Jr.; Grandparents, Calvin and Shante Broadus, and Dwayne and Charlotte Polk; aunts, Devrysha Rogers, Ambher Ellis (Justin), and Allysa Polk; uncles, Kalvin Love (Soraya), Cordell Broadus (Sophia), and Darreus Rogers, great grandmothers, Pam Taylor and Wanda Jackson, her Nani, Sharelle Taylor; great- great grandmother Dale Clinton and a host of cousins and other family and friends who will cherish her memory forever.
