IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Corey
Farr
February 15, 1976 – January 4, 2024
Corey Lamont Farr was born February 15, 1976 in Long Beach, California, to the proud
parents, Mary Dianne and Julius Daniel Haley. Corey attended James Garfield
Elementary, Bancroft Junior High, and then went on to Poly High School, graduating in
1994. He continued his education at L.A. Harbor City College.
A man with many passions, Corey loved sports, especially football, baseball and
softball. Aside from being an avid football fan, he also played while in high school. He
also served the community as a coach for Long Beach Parks and Recreation Department.
Additionally, Corey enjoyed cooking and could often be seen barbequing on the field
during softball games.
Corey worked in the area as a Security Guard for Yang Ming Terminals and also at
various "cold storage companies". This allowed him to do whatever he could do to
support his family.
He had a zest for life, deeply loving his family, his friends and his San Francisco
49ers football team. Corey was known for his laughter, his sense of fun, and jokes. A
devoted father, he cherished spending time with his children and was passionate about
providing for them. Corey's loyalty and dependability made him a valued friend, always
ready to support those in need.
Corey's love for God was evident throughout his life. On January 4, 2024, he answered
God's call. Corey was preceded in death by his sister, Kimberly, his father, Julius, Uncle
Jerry, grandmother, Wilma, great grandmother Clytec, great aunt, Mary, Cousin, Daniel,
cousin, Anita, and grandmother, Dessie.
He is survived by his son, Corey Jr., two beautiful daughters, Kimberly and Lauren, a
devoted mother Mary Dianne, sister Deborah of Detroit, Michigan, three brothers James
and Jermaine of Long Beach, and Anthony of Detroit, Michigan, a niece Danesha, two
nephews Khalil and Masson, Uncle Larry Farr of Tupelo, Mississippi, Uncle John Haley
of Detroit, Michigan, cousin Harry Ivy of West Virginia, cousin Charlene Boarman of
Suitland, Maryland, Trevan Mashall (like his second son), and a host of other relatives
and friends. Although he is no longer present, Corey will be greatly missed and forever
remembered in our hearts.
