Obituary
Cynthia Anita Richardson was born on June 25, 1957 in Los Angeles, CA to the late Reverend Robert & Dottie B. Washington, Sr.
She was united with our Lord Jesus Christ from birth at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church of Long Beach under the leadership of the late Pastor Frank C. Washington and her father Pastor Robert Washington, Sr. She became a member of The Rhema Word Bible Church under Pastor Trevor Johnson where she nurtured the Mother Board, she served with the Prayer Parishioners, Convalescent Ministry, Women of Excellence, Pastors Aide and behind the scenes wherever needed.
The Washington family relocated to Long Beach, CA where she attended and graduated from Long Beach Polytechnic School. She continued her education as Valedictorian of her graduating class and became a Registered Nurse with her AA from Long Beach City College. Cynthia chose to spend the rest of her life helping to heal and make people better inside and out. She worked at Saint Mary Medical Center, Hoag Hospital, Walnut Convalescent and in later years at Haven Health Care. She was a Mary Kay Consultant; an over all image enhancer. She had two part-time jobs; Bingo and Tonk which she enjoyed so much.
Cynthia was truly a remarkably free spirit. She was outgoing as well as outspoken, a comedian and a natural jokester by heart. She gave to every one she something to everyone she encountered; a bandage of love, a splint of kisses or a cast of hugs. She would help any way she could. She was everything you needed in a person warm and inviting, caring and nurturing, understanding and non judgmental. She loved and inspired us all. This shining star will forever shine in our hearts.
On August 21, 2013 GOD said "Well done Cynthia my faithful one, it's time to rest." Her father, mother, two brothers and one grandson have preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish and carry on her memories a loving husband Jesse L. Richardson; daughter Rochelle Cuie; two sons Raymond Basped and Justin Cuie; three sisters Cassandra Washington, Janet Washington and Sharon (Robert) Haslip; two brothers Jesse Richardson and Reverend Terry Washington; 11 grandchildren Tyler & Cynia Cuie, Rayona & Raynita Basped, Kiara Cuie, Gregory Staley, Deon Tucker, Aaron Bartelle, Tierra & Az'unque Barfield, Denzel Williams and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives, extended family, friends and loved ones.
