Obituary

On March 19th, 1961 the Lord blessed Sarah and Otis Allen, with a beautiful baby girl name Darlene. She was born in Chicago, Illinois and was the 8th of 14 children. Darlene was a ray of joy to be around and brought laughter to all who came in her presence, especially children. Kids loved to be in the company of Darlene.

Darlene loved family, and mostly the children. She was so devoted to the care of them that she went on to attend Compton College where she obtained her certification for Early Childhood Development. She later went on to provide childcare services to family, friends and a host of others. She was especially close to all her nieces and nephews who looked at her not only as Auntie Darlene, but as a bonus mom. The kids that Darlene enjoyed most of all, were the three (3) loves of her life, her son and daughter Alan Linton and Meshawnta Allen, who have already been called home to be with the Lord. And the ray of joy, her beloved son, Michael Leon Brown who she left to shine for all of us.

On May 12th, 2016 the Lord called Darlene home. She leaves behind her son Michael Leon Brown; companion Dennis Barnett; sisters Geraldine, Patricia, Ann, La Kinya, Tracy and Gwen; brothers Nathaniel, Tommy, Jimmy, William, James and Otis; Uncle Randolph, Aunt Willie Mae, Aunt Mamie and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins other relatives and dear friends.
