Obituary

Mr. Doremus David "Tracy" Snuggs, Jr. died peacefully on April 26, 2015, at Lakewood Regional Medical Center in Lakewood, California at the age of 71.

Doremus David Snuggs, Jr. was born on September 18, 1943, in Albemarle, NC to Doremus David Snuggs, Sr. and Aleane Snuggs.  He graduated from California State University Long Beach in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.  He married Trudella Margaret Harris in 1966.  After moving to Long Beach, David began working for Electronic Memories, Inc. as an Electronic Tech.  David retired from Southern California Edison and The US Army Corps of Engineers.

Over 49 years of marriage, the couple welcomed 5 children (Cerise (Albert Dossman, Jr.), Carmen, Carla, Catherine and David) into their home. His children remember him as a strong, dependable and intelligent provider who encouraged them to pursue their goals.

David loved to share his knowledge of computers, math, electronics, electricity, music and automotive repair.  David also loved to fish, garden, cook and barbeque.

David is survived by his wife Trudella M Snuggs, siblings Imogene Snuggs, Patrick Snuggs, Gail Swaringen, Victor Snuggs,  all of Albemarle, NC and Ivey Cytrena Snuggs, of Charlotte, NC, Children (Cerise [Albert Dossman, Jr.], Carmen, Carla, Catherine and David), Grandchildren (Albert Dossman, III, Breanna, Andrew, Brittany and Laila) and Great-grandchildren (Nicole-Belle and Angelica Marie). He is also survived by numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, co-workers and neighbors. David is preceded in death by his Father Doremus David Snuggs, Sr. and his Mother Aleane Snuggs, both of Albemarle, NC., and grandson Lo-Khem Zion Elijah Saw-An.
