Obituary

Mrs. EddieLee Newton-Evans was born December 12, 1935 to Edward (Ed) Newton and Sallie (Stepps) Newton in Johnville, Arkansas. Growing up the family attended the Palestine AME where EddieLee Accepted Christ at an early age.
Sacrificing Her education for her family and for the generations to come, EddieLee worked by picking cotton and tomatoes along the sides of her 13 on land that owned by her parents and other parties. EddieLee was born a country girl that moved to the big city but she remained country girl at heart. As A Teenager, EddieLee moved to California where she resided in Altadena and Pasadena Area. EddieLee enjoyed her white Garrett snuff, Dressing Sharp, listening to blues, having Luxury Cars, & also traveling to see her family (Newton's, Stepps's, Callum's, Ross's and Etc) in Arkansas, Los Angeles,California , Phoenix, Arizona , Oklahoma City, Oklahoma & Also Denver, Colorado. EddieLee was a very intelligent woman, self sufficient, self-made, very kind hearted & Forgiving. EddieLee did things for her community and gave assistance to a lot of family members and friends during her life time.
EddieLee Married Booker T Hampton in 1952. Together they had three children;
Debra Hampton, Marvin Hampton and Glen Hampton (preceding in death). Later in her life she met Robert (Sport) Williams (preceding in death) and together they had two children; Michelle Williams and Sandra Williams.
On March 28,1975 EddieLee Married a hardworking, caring man named Thomas Evans. EddieLee and Thomas Shared 35+ years of marriage until his death.
They also adopted Christian Hampton-Evans as their daughter.
Preceding her into eternity are her husband Thomas J Evans;  her parents Edward & Sallie Newton. Four brothers Nathanial Newton, Anthony Newton, Bobby Newton, & Earl Newton; Two Sisters Meryle Grey & Cleopha Phillips; Three Children Debra Hampton, Marvin Hampton & Glen Hampton; One Grandson Tydren Hampton and One Great Grandson Justus Graves
Eddie Lee Cherish her memories with her Three Daughters; Michelle Williams & Sandra Williams, Christina Hampton Evans Four Brothers, Louis Newton, David Newton, Napoleon Ross & Harold Ross; Three sisters, Zeopha Sanford, Pauline Hicks & Stella Nierwinska; 13 Grandchildren Garvase (Connie), Armad, Corey, Keith, Kelly, Larry, Kenneth, Kisha, M****, Shamirre, Shanaye, Shanelle, & Shaniece
A host of great-grandchildren & great-great grandchildren & great-great-great grandchildren & nieces and nephews.
EddieLee will Truly be missed and will live forever in our hearts
