Her Life Story

Edna Mae Griffin was born in Texas to the parents of Jordan Lane and Florence Lane ~Washington on May 29, 1917. Edna and her family moved to San Pedro, CA at the age of seven.

She attended Barton Hill Elementary School, Dona Jr. High School and San Pedro High School. She married Terry Chambers and to this union one son, Terry Chambers, Jr. was born.

In Edna's younger days, she enjoyed dancing and fellowship with friends. She was warm and personable and a very loyal friend.

She was saved early in life and a member of Friendship Baptist Church where her step-father Reverend Frank Washington was the pastor.

Edna worked a variety of different jobs and was competent and conscientious at each of them. She watched the "stories" as she called them for years. Later she put them aside and started watching the "Judges".

She was the head of our family and a calming influence on all of us. Her love was never doubted and always on display for us; her family.

Edna leaves to cherish her memories son Terry Richard (Carolyn) Chambers; brother Ivory James (Wilma) Lane; sister Ruby Wilson Fleetwood; grandsons John Corey Chambers and Gregory Wayne Chambers; granddaughter Kendra Terin Chambers; great grand- daughter Raven Simone Chambers; nephews Dwight (Vivian) Wilson, Gary Lane and Ivory (Cheryl) Wilson and a host of grand-nieces, nephews other relatives and dear friends.
