Obituary
Edward J. Warren was born February 18, 1928 in Lackawana, New York to Isaiah and Annie Warren. He was the second of six children. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, a brother Johnnie Warren and two sisters Alice Taylor and Anna Warren.
Edward passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, May 8, 2014 at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center with family at his bedside.
He joined the Army Air Corp in 1946 and was in the first group of black men to join the United States Air Force when it was established in 1947. He was a veteran of the Korean War and Vietnam War. He achieved the rank of Master Sergeant before retiring in August 1976 and moving to Long Beach, California. In 1989 he retired from the Seal Beach Naval Weapons Station as a Lieutenant for the military police in Seal Beach, California.
On May 19, 1958, he married Dorothy Mae Green in Vicksburg, Mississippi. To this union four children were born. Eddie leaves four children to celebrate his life, Stephanie Warren, Jewel Warren-Reed, Edward C.I. Warren and Lisa Warren-Williams, son-in laws Michael J. Reed and Jesse Williams, two grandsons Edward Scott and Dana Alexander Reed and four granddaughters Shayla Dionne Warren, Jasmine Williams, Michaela Janae Reed and Joy Williams, his brother William Warren and sister Pauline Hemphill, a very special niece Carmen Warren, a very special nephew Jerome Warren and a host of other nieces and nephews and friends.
