Obituary

Essie Mae Jackson was born February 6, 1939 in Shreveport , LA to Rosie Lee Clark and Lanzy Jackson. She was a wonderful and devoted mother of six children. She lived in New York for many years. In 1972 she moved to California to be with her mother Rosie Lee and brother John Jay. Essie deicated her life to Christ at an early age. She worked on the assembly line at an Aerospace Company (Grumman Aircraft) before moving to California, where she became a homemaker while raising her six children.

Essie Mae was known for her up beat personality and active walk of life. She loved to be fashionable (everything had to match). Her favorite past time was playing bingo, watching the Dodgers, Lakers and laughing with family and friends.

Essie Mae is preceded in death by her mother Rosie Lee Clark, father Lanzy Jackson and grandson Keon King.

She leaves to cherish her memory: one brother John J. (sister-in-law Mary Jo); one sister Jerissa Nicholas; six children Shelia (son-in-law Patrick), Cheryl (niece), Barbara, Danny, Brenda (son-in-law Vernon) and Deborah; one niece; seven nephews; eight grandchildren; nine great grand children and a large host of extended family and friends.
