Obituary
Henry Charles Mitchell was born February 10, 1938 in Pittsburg, Texas to the proud parents of Herman Mitchell and Anedita Brooks Mitchell. From this union many children were born. He was the sixth child and was known as "Charlie Boy" to his siblings and "Charles" to other family and friends.
In 1948 the entire family relocated to Long Beach, CA then moved to Wilmington, CA in 1954. Charles received his education at Polytechnic High School in Long Beach, CA and Banning High School in Wilmington, CA.
Charles was a spiritual man raised up in the church; he attended White Rose Church of God and Christ. Charles started his employment working with the family Towing Service. Later he began his career at Western-Waist Management where he retired years later.
Charles was a kind hearted man that would do anything for anyone. He was a passive but strong individual. He loved going fishing and watching Cowboy movies but most of all he was a big Laker's fan. Charles loved working and was one that had to be made to take a vacation because he loved to work and to take care of his family.
Charles is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Mitchell; parents Herman Mitchell and Anedita Brooks Mitchell; seven siblings Virginia, Morabea, Willie and Herman Mitchell, Annie Murphy, Dorothy Pickett and Melba Campbell and one stepchild Theophilus Brown.
On December 31, 2014 the Lord called Charles home from this life. He leaves to cherish his memories his four children Victoria Mitchell Ballard, Karen Mitchell, Ricky Mitchell and Zelda Mitchell; one stepchild Emma Smittick; six siblings Margie Ree McQueen, Maggie Pearl Stevenson, James "Jimmy" Mitchell, Leroy Mitchell, Irean Cheatom and Robert Mitchell; thirteen grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren; one great great grandson; the beloved families of his siblings and a host of other relatives and friends.
