Howard Glenn Hubbard

On February 4, 1954 in Dallas Texas, a beautiful, proud fearless God fearing baby boy was born. He was the oldest of five children born to Phillip and Lovie Lee Hubbard. His parents named him Howard which means "High Guard". This was fitting and appropriate for he was the true standard of being his brothers and sisters keeper. As a young child Howard accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. After the family relocated to California, Howard attended Carson High School where he excelled on the "B" football team. Wearing that Carson Colt helmet and showing it off to his siblings had great influence on their growth and development. He was their true living hero.

After graduating from high school, Howard joined the army. Howard was a proud American and felt that the greatest way to show his patriotism was to serve his country and he served it well. His mother Lovie was brought to tears when he returned home, looking handsome and proud in his uniform. That was the first time her other children had ever seen her cry. She knew that her baby left home as a boy but returned as a man. You can always tell when a man is a true friend because those friends are still with him today.

Howard had a passion for fishing. He could spend hours on end kicking back with a cold one and bringing home the catch of the day. As with all fishermen, Howard had his share of fish stories. 'Til today, it is still not clear as to who was the real person to actually catch Moby Dick.

Howard later met and fell in love with the love of his life Melinda "Linda" Cheadle. Once this union was made he was never the same. His every thought and action included Linda. He was the envy of his male friends. He once stated that "Linda is not perfect, but she is perfect for me". When Linda went home in September 2014, Howard was never the same. He missed his heart and soul more than one can imagine. All he wanted was to go home to Linda.

Howard was also preceded home by his father Phillip Hubbard Jr., his mother Lovie Lee Ford and his eldest sister Tanja Jewell. Howard is survived by his Brothers Phillip Hubbard III, Vincent Aldridge and Troy Wiley; sisters Sara Tinley and Sheila Brown; brothers in law Jerry Brown and Jerome Cheadle; sister in laws Lisa Aldridge, Diane Wiley, Demetrie Todd and Janie Wright; uncle Paul Washington; aunts Dorthea Washington, Bessie Steggar and Helen Hubbard; nieces Kajuana Porch, Jackie Owens, Candace Deminter, Tammara Carter, and Ebonie Brown; nephews Tyrone Hubbard, Clifton Atkins Jr., Alvin Hagens, Michael Aldridge, Anthony Aldridge, William Atkins Sr., Matthew R. Hubbard, Antwuan Williams; a host of great nieces and nephews and last but not least his best friend "Little Bit".
