Obituary
The Truth shall set you free"
Ira Pearl Ruds was born on November 1, 1930 in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was the youngest of three children born to the late Vera Williams and Willie Bailey. Her Siblings, Fred "Son" Bailey and sister Willie Lee Bailey both preceded her in death. Their family moved to California in 1945. Once in California she met her husband Clarence Ruds and they married at a young age. They remained married until Clarence was called home to the Lord.
Pearl (as family and friends all called her) will always be remembered for going on "turn around" trips to the casinos with her first Cousin Dora Walker, playing her scratcher tickets, listening to the blues, her love of dogs and of course her famous soul food.
Pearl leaves to cherish her memories her first cousin but close as a sister Dora Walker; although Pearl didn't have any children of her own she was kept busy helping with Dora's children; a host of great nieces and nephews Della Monroe, Beatrice Butler, Shelia Odebert, George Sanders, Vera Sanders, Vickey Sanders, Jerry Austin, Troy Austin, Jaclyn Walker, her own special "King" Boo and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pearl will have a great homecoming celebration welcomed by her loving parents, siblings, uncle Joe Williams, nieces Dorothy Slade and Shirley Mizell and her nephew Frank Bailey whom all have preceded her in death.
Pearl was truly loved and will greatly be missed.
