Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2015 from 10:00 AM - 12 Noon and the Home Going Celebration will begin at 12 Noon at the Long Beach Colonial Mortuary Chapel.

A life well lived is a precious gift of hope, strength and grace from someone who has made our world a brighter, better place. James Ray Burton's life was well lived.

James Ray Burton was born on June 1, 1988 to Betty Jean Burton. He was the fifth of six children.

James Ray Burton accepted Christ at an early age. He attended Praise Christian Fellowship Bible Church in Los Angeles, California for his spiritual guidance.

He attended Tibby Elementary, Davis Middle School and graduated a proud "Tar Babies" from Compton High School.

James enjoyed playing basketball at Double Rock Church. He was very neighborhood friendly. Everywhere he went someone knew him.

He leaves to behind to cherish his memories his mother Betty Burton; brothers: Ricky Burton and Jimmy Burton; sisters: Tirsha Long, Regina Martin and Lillie Smith; nieces and nephews: Brittany Harden, Marsha Hankins, Marshana Hankins, Sidney Harden, Whitney Harden, Johnny Morris, Jordan Burton and Kennedi King; and host of aunts uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He will be truly missed and loved by all of his family and friends.
