Obituary

Jesse James Richardson was born December 31, 1948 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Eli Richardson and Dottie B. Rochelle who both preceded him in death.

In 1967 Jesse accepted the Lord as his Savior. He was baptized at Friendship Baptist Church in Long Beach, California, under the pastoral leadership of Pastor Frank C. Washington. Jesse was a God fearing Christian man that loved the Lord with all his heart.

Jesse worked as a construction worker for the City of Long Beach for many years. He worked as a barber and an all-around handyman. If it was broken he knew how to fit it. Jesse was an advocate reader. He loved learning. He was a man of profound words, great knowledge, and wisdom.

Jesse was a very loving and nurturing father. He loved his children. He would make a way out of no way to provide for his family. Jesse reminded his love ones, every time he saw them that he loved them, no matter what was going in their lives. Jesse expressed his unconditional love for his family with words and action. He embraced and protected his family. Throughout his life, Jesse was very generous and kind-hearted; he would help anyone in need.

Jesse is preceded by his siblings Cynthia A. Richardson, Edward L. Richardson and Sherman D. Richardson.

Jesse leaves cherish memories with his three sons, Ryan J. Richardson, Bryan A. Richardson and Jesse J. Richardson, Jr.; three daughters, Tammy S. Richardson, LaResha R. Richardson and Dominique S. Richardson; twelve grandchildren, Bryan Richardson Jr., Dravon D. Richardson, Andrea P. Richardson, Jettidiah J. Richardson, Bryson Richardson, Diamond Jones, Vincent Jackson, Daeven Jackson, Genesis B. Lyles, Serenity A. Lyles, Trinity D. Lyles and Christian Holmes; five great grandchildren; four siblings, Cassandra Washington, Reverend Terry J. Washington, Janet Washington, and Sharon Washington; aunt Mary Jane Wilson; three uncles, Jesse Williams, Felix Williams and Alonzo Williams and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
