Obituary

Joseph Sebastian Perruccio was born in Southern California on November 16, 1947 to Anita and Isidore. Joe was raised on the Westside of Long Beach with his brothers Rick and Ron. He Graduated from Long Beach Polytechnic High School in 1965. Joe continued his education at UC Irvine, graduating in 1969 with a degree in History and Social Studies. Joe always had a passion for baseball. When he was just 18 years of age, he began his coaching career in the Children's Baseball Association of Long Beach. Along with his Father Isidore, they won twelve Elks League Championships.

After earning his teaching credential, Joe began teaching at his alma mater Poly High School. Where he became the baseball coach from 1980 to 1989, he had many successes as a coach at Poly, a few of which were winning a two Moore League titles and coaching now Major League Baseball Hall of Fame inductee, Tony Gwynn.

Joe was married in 1991 to Pamela Davis and resided in Long Beach along with their two daughters Joanna and Alexa. Joe retired in 2009 after more than 30 years of teaching. Joe was a fixture in the Poly community for many years, dedicating his services to youth. Joe is survived by his wife Pamela; daughter's Joanna and Alexa; brothers Rick and Ron; nephews Jacob, Anthony, Samuel and Silas; nieces Natalie, Sophia and Ruby; and a host of other relatives and friends.
