Obituary
Juan Pablo Santiago ("Pablito" as he was called by family and "Cisco" by many of his friends) was born on July 30, 1979 in Long Beach, CA to Juan Pablo Santiago and Lois Lawana Cox, whom both preceded their son in death.
Juan grew up in La Mirada, CA where he attended Walnut Elementary School in Norwalk and La Mirada High School. He was a great soccer player; he played for Cerritos United Club. At age 14, he was invited to play professional soccer for the National Boys Team for USA. Juan enjoyed listening to all genres of music. As a child, he attended the Puerto Rican Festival with his father every year and he loved listening to the conga drums.
In spite of an adventurous up bringing, Juan grew into a strong young man. He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior at age 19.
Juan was reliable, polite and a generous man. He was a good friend to many. It did not matter what the need; he was just a phone call away willing to lend a helping hand. Juan loved his job in the oil refineries. He was up at 3:30 AM riding his bike to work. He was a "Hard-Worker" and highly respected among his co-workers. "Get Cha Money" is what he said to motivate himself and others whether it was to get up and exercise or in life; it simply means no excuses just do it.
Juan loved his family. He was a loving husband, devoted father, brother and uncle. He enjoyed seeing the family get together and reminisce about good times. Juan had a story about "everything". Chef Juan took great pride in his cooking skills. He used his creativity to prepare fun delicious and different meals for the family.
Juan leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife and friend of 18 years Darnetta Santiago; four children Bianca, Briana, Brandee and Brielle; five sisters Anita Davis, Wanda Walker, Sonia Santiago, Elaine Wilson and Lauren Holly; one brother Arthur Holly; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives in California, New Mexico, Kansas City and a multitude of friends who were touched by his life. "He will always be in our hearts and dreams".
Juan left this life on Thursday, August 1, 2013. Although his time with us was brief and he will be greatly missed. He would want us to celebrate his life and the person who he was. Juan is now sitting at the right hand of the Father…Grieve no longer for now He is free. We will love you forever & always.
