Lenora Fay Arnwine was born on February 26th, 1936, to the late Hugo Arnwine Sr. and Retha Day (Witherspoon) in Jacksonville, Texas. The family moved to Long Beach in 1944.
Church - united with Christ Second Baptist Church at an early age and was baptized by the late Rev. H. B. Charles. As a child she became active in Sunday school and BTU. As a teenager she sang in the youth choir. School - attended Lincoln Elementary School, Franklin Junior High and graduated Polytechnic High School in 1953. She attended Long Beach City College, Business and Technology Division for 2 years. Career - entered the Federal Civil Service government in July 1955. She held several roles including with Maywood Air Force Depot, Air Reserve, and most notably the United States Coast Guard for 35 years. Marriage – She was united in marriage from 1959-1963 to Melvin W. Bailey.Lenora was preceded in death by her parents, brother Hugo Arnwine Jr, half-sister Lorraine Gosha and nephew Michael Arnwine Sr.
She leaves to mourn, niece and goddaughter Danielle (Shawn) Johnson. Nieces, Michelle Thomas, Danica (Jovany) Rico, Deanna (Donald) Arnwine, and Bailey Johnson. Nephews, Marcus (Andrea) Arnwine, Michael (Daisy) Arnwine, Quinten Arnwine, Marcus Arnwine Jr., Melvin Thomas and Mackenzie Thomas.
Special cousins, Hope Lee and Deborah Johnson. Half-sisters, Geraldine Pollard-Volz (Kevin) and Camila (Lionel) Bradford. Half-brothers, Bobby (Vet) Arnwine, Elvis (Regina) Arnwine, and Reggie Arnwine. She also leaves behind a host of cousins and dear friends.
She departed this world on January 1st, 2023, to go home where she will be forever in the arms of her Heavenly Father.
