Obituary

Marilyn Kay Kyles was born on January 13th 1960 in Carson, California. She was the fourth of seven children born through the union of John and Arbadella Kyles.  She was introduced to Christ at a young age.
Marilyn was employed with the county of Los Angeles for over 5 years and enjoyed her recent years as a home maker.  She spent her entire life in Long Beach and attended Roosevelt Elementary School, Hamilton Middle school and graduated from Jordan High School in 1978. In 1980 she and Bruce Anderson welcomed their first child Jasmine Azzette Anderson.  In years to follow she was united in Holy matrimony to Leroy Patton in 1988 and to this union Amber Yvonne Patton was born. She also became a stepmother to Nikki Patton and John Williams. Marilyn was devoted to her family and friends. Her genuine hospitality made everyone feel like they were a part of her family.  Marilyn's quick witted sense of humor, contagious laughter and kind heart left an everlasting impression to all who were ever in her presence.
Marilyn enjoyed the simplicities of life. Her family brought her the greatest joy and she reciprocated her love to all through her famous home cooked meals, playing an occasional game of spades or keeping everyone in good sprits with her endless jokes and conversations.  Her ability to effortlessly bring comfort and joy to others was a God given gift that she shared with so many.  She was a die hard Forty Niners fan, an exemplary cook, a sharp dresser and witty wordsmith. Her personality was a magnetic force that instantly captivated people and drew them close to her.  Once you were in her presence you were to never forget the experience you shared with her.
She was predeceased by her parents John and Arbadella Kyles and sister Celestean Kyles.
She is survived by her long time beau Malcolm Stewart; two daughters Jasmine Anderson and Amber Patton; one son John (Michelle) Williams; two grandsons Jaden Arceneaux and Josiah Williams; four sisters Lisa Kyles, Glyness Kyles, Sandra Smith and Tina Neal; one brother Kenneth Kyles; mother-in-law Mahalia Anderson and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
