Obituary

Micheal Ray Edwards was born in Jennings, LA on August 19, 1951 to the late Valrie Edwards and Alberta Julian Edwards. Two siblings, Judy Dugas and James Lee Julian preceded him in death and one granddaughter Kerrington.

He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior early in 1993 and followed his profession of faith with Christian baptism on May 8th, 1993.

Mike attended Jeff Davis High School and graduated in 1969. He then married Paulette Miller and from this union two children were born, Michael Ray Jr and Marquitha D'Jon.

Mike enlisted in the army in 1971 to 1973 and then re-enlisted in 1976-1977 and served as a sharp shooter m16 receiving a national defense service medal. After serving his duties in the army he resided in Anaheim California and worked at McDonald Douglas air craft. In 1980 his daughter Ebony was born. In 1993 he met Barbara Howell and they were united as one in 1995.

Mike departed this life on June 18, 2015. He leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his life a loving
wife Barbara H. Edwards, one brother Lionel (Mary) Edwards, 6 sisters Jerra (Raymond) Caesar, Diana (William) Reed, Casendera McShan, Annette Nell Drummer, Sharon (Michael) Wellmaker, Minna Edwards, one son Michael Ray (Edith) Edwards Jr, two daughters Marquitha D'Jon (John) Morgan and Ebony Merrict and one stepson Khari, twelve grandchildren, Raygene, Tarika, Diamond, Vision, Karrington, Jaiden, Jaleal, Jasmin, Christen, Triston, Laterjera, Josiah, two in-laws, James O'Kelley, Rosalyn Brown. He leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
