The Life Story of Patricia "Ann" Johnson
Ms. Patricia "Ann" Johnson was born on September 2, 1953, in Tuscaloosa,Alabama, to the union of Ida Lee Johnson and Lawrence Hudgins. She was the youngest of ten children. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents Ida Lee Johnson and Lawrence Hudgins; three brothers Willie Johnson, James Johnson and Solomon Johnson; and one sister Mary Johnson.
Patricia was baptized at a young age, and loved the God served. She is a graduate from Long Beach Polytechnic High School. Following graduation, she served as a kitchen aide at Colonial Manor Convalescent. Thereafter, she resigned and decided to further her education at Long Beach City College, where she majored in horticulture and seaming.
Patricia was high spirited and a survivor. She recovered from many illnesses during the last few years of her life, but managed to hold onto her smile through it all. She always took life in a stride and maintained a positive attitude about the highs and lows that she encountered during her life's journey.
In the early 1970's is when Patricia met her childhood sweetheart, Jerry Williams. From this union they brought one wonderful boy into the world, Kelvin Johnson, whom was the center of her life. Using the wisdom she ascertained from her mothers instruction, Ann taught her son the values of life and to appreciate all experiences it had to offer. She reared her son to be respectful, a man of GOD and of honor. If you knew Ann, you knew that her son and family were her universe. She was a loving daughter, aunt, sister, mother and grandmother.
Patricia will be specially remembered for her hospitality, garbage talking, pork cooking, party going and living life to the fullest self. Ann was a person who loved having fun, playing cards, listening to music, looking at photos and enjoying the company of her close family and friends. Ann left a favorable impression on all of whom she encountered.
On June 5, 2014 the Lord lifted Patricia up to be with him and to join her mother, father, sister and brothers. Today we celebrate the life of a daughter, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend who will be loved and missed by many.
Cherishing her memory, Patricia leaves behind her only son Kelvin Johnson; two sisters Verdie Mae Johnson of Buffalo, NY and LaVonne Johnson of Long Beach, CA; three brothers Clarence Johnson of Tuscaloosa, AL, Ronia Johnson of Long Beach, CA and Ivory Johnson aka Tom of Long Beach, CA; two grandchildren Desiree Johnson and Malindy Johnson; a special confidant and friend Isaiah Tapp, Jr. for more than 25 years along with a host of extended family and friends.
Rest in Peace Patricia "Ann" Johnson
