Obituary

The weary hours, the days of pain, the sleepless nights are past. The ever patient worn out frame has found sweet rest at last. The angels flew in during the early hours of Friday, October 18, 2013 and took Ms. Rosie B. Collins to her heavenly home.

Rosie B. Collins was born on October 10, 1940 to the late Sallie Elizabeth Coleman and Noble Richards in Lamberts, Mississippi. Rosie B. or "Sister" as she was so affectionately called by her family was the first child of eleven children. Rosie B. attended public schools in Lamberts, Mississippi when not helping her family in the cotton fields.

Rosie B. moved from Mississippi in 1958 to Anderson, Indiana. After moving there, Rosie B. united with Zion Baptist Church under the pastorate of Reverend James T. Menifee, where she actively served on the Usher Board.

In 1985, Rosie B. moved to Long Beach, California where she rendered unfaltering service at Traveler's Rest Baptist Church under the pastorate of Reverend Cornell Bynum. Her faithful service continued there on the Usher Board until her health began to fail, but yet her faithfulness as a member continued on.

Her life has left an indelible impression on the lives of all who knew her. Her devotion and dedication to God and her family, and her loving care to her friends will be greatly missed.

Rosie B. leaves to cherish her memories, life time friend Jim L. Collins; seven children, Deborah Ragland (Tom) of Long Beach, California, Kathy Brewer (Nell) of Fontana, California, Mary Collins of Denton, Texas, Jimmy Collins (Denice) of Long Beach, California, Angela Gibson (Kevin) of Long Beach, California, Annie D. Collins of Long Beach, California and Latrina Allen of Long Beach, California; twenty-two grandchildren and thirty-seven great grand children; one sister Rosie M. Gulley (Willie); six brothers J. W. Richards, Jimmy Coleman (Mae), Andrew Coleman (Barbara), Robert Coleman (Cathy), Freddie Coleman (Cynthia) and Cleve Coleman Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
