Shirley Johnson was born on June 7, 1955 in Helena, Arkansas to the late AJ Jackson and Elizabeth Morris. At an early age she moved to Long Beach, California. All who knew Shirley loved her. She always had a smile for everyone she came in contact with. For those who would ask how she was doing, she would say "I have some good day and I have some bad days." Shirley attended Poly High School where she excelled in English. After graduating from Poly High School, she met and married her high school sweet heart Charles Johnson. They were married for forty years. They were blessed with two daughters: Shenette Johnson Moore and LaPria Johnson. On Thursday, September 18, 2014 the Lord called Shirley home to be at peace with her mother Elizabeth, brother Bobby; aunts, uncles, and cousins who preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving husband Charles Johnson; two daughters Shenette Johnson Moore and LaPria Johnson; one sister Carolyn Mack; step brother Jermaine Mack; son-in-law Kip Moore; five grandchildren: Keith Davis, Ke'von Davis, Darrion Johnson, LaPresha Johnson and Ki'Miah Moore; three great-grandchildren: Kevon Davis, Jr., Keymari Davis and Kali Davis; mother-in-law Charlsie Rubin; four sisters: Esther Kennedy and Brenda Simien both of Lake Charles, LA and Liz Knott of Bakersfield, CA; brother-in-law Emerick Simien of Lake Charles, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
