Viewing and Service will be Friday, March 13, 2015 at Christ Second Baptist Church 1471 Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue Long Beach, CA. Viewing will be from 10am to 11am. Service will begin at 11am
Interment will be at Lincoln Memorial Park 16701 Central Ave. Carson, CA
Mother Thedora Pool was born on December 15, 1916 in Lake Providence, Louisiana. Her parents, daughter and eight siblings preceded her in death. She met and fell in love and was united in Holy Matrimony to Rev. J.W. Pool on June 9, 1944. Mother Pool was the mother of one daughter, Annie Ruth Cook. She received her Associate Degree in Music from Compton Junior College and confessed Christ at an early age in 1934. She became a member of Christ Second Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Al Goer. For thirty years Mother Pool served faithfully as a Charming "First Lady" and worked in many capacities. She was a member of the Senior Choir for twelve years, Gospel Choir for twelve years, Gospel Choir ten years, Assistant Director of the Junior Choir for ten years, Musician for the Sunday School and BTU for twelve years. She was the BTU Junior High School teacher and also served as chaplain for BTU. She was a member of the Rainbow Club for many years, and a member of the Fairview Family and Friends Organization for the disabled. In every phase of her work, she was dependable and conscientious. Mother pool was a woman that condemned immorality and would often say that adultery and fornication is a sin.
Mother Pool made her transition on Sunday, March 1, 2015. She leaves to cherish her memories: three brothers: Isacc Coleman (Marie) of Detroit, MI; Tobe Coleman (Betty) of Greenville, MS; Deacon Ezra Coleman (Mary) of San Pablo, CA; one sister, Janie Middleton (Henry) of Vicksburg, MS; special God-daughter Dorothy Clayton; and a host of nieces nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
