IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Thomas Richard
Curnow
October 19, 1964 – June 5, 2025
Thomas Richard Curnow, born October 19, 1964, in Bellflower, CA, passed away in Long Beach on June 5, 2025. He was many things to many people--a lifelong umpire, a devoted coach at St. John Bosco, a die-hard Notre Dame fan--but most of all, he was a father who loved with his whole heart.
Thomas spent over 30 years calling games on the field and guiding young athletes from the sidelines, but his proudest role was being "Dad." His son, Chase, was something rare and beautiful--a relationship rooted in unconditional love, goofy jokes, deep admiration, and unwavering presence. His love for his daughter, Heather, ran deep--a quest, steady affection shaped by shared memories, strength through hardship, and the joy of coaching her from the dugout. With his partner of over 30 years, Deborah Neese, Thomas shared a love both playful and profound--built through trials, sustained by loyalty, and rooted in their unshakable bound.
Thomas was a big old goofball, always quick to laugh, always putting others first--even when it cost him. He lit up rooms with his presence and left behind a love so wide and so deep, it is impossible to put into words. In his absence persists a presence--not of this physical world, but one that endures in the hearts and minds of all those he touched.
Thomas is survived by his daughter, Heather; his son, Chase; his brother, Chuck; and his sister, Kathy. He will be missed more than words can express.
