Obituary

To My Dad William Miller,
I thanked God for giving me my daddy for the 59 years of my life. I am honored beyond measure for that! My daddy gave me another family, my Momma Mabel, my loving (biggest) sister, Sonya, two baby brothers, Keith and Byron, and my baby(youngest) sister Tiffany.  And another sister, Sandra, lived in another state.
My daddy was a man that grew up without much and grew up without the guidance of his parents from a young age into adulthood.  I will remember him in my heart forever as a man who loved family. He wanted the best for his family.  He provided, protected, and showed and professed his love to his wife, and his immediate growing family, which included his brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, inlaws, and friends.  He was a respectable father figure for many.
Daddy as your eldest little baby girl sitting on your lap looking in another direction while your big hands and wide arms held me in place, I often wondered what I was thinking or what was taking my attention. Now, I can say my memories were starting to build with you first picking me up for my many visits, where I had another family that included: Momma Mable, sisters, brothers, grandparents, cousins, uncles, and aunts at your home: Picking me up with Momma Mable, Playing with my little sister Sonya all day because it was just the two of us at first (I think we drove you crazy when we became teenagers) but you got through it(smile), Picking me up in the Sanford and Son Red Truck and then White Truck with Uncle (Bogater) James, then picking me up with my devoted, ride and best buddies, little brother Keith who was the sweetest with a lot of frequent miles, who always came no matter what because he was happy to see his big sister and you would fill us up with snacks when you did not drive the trucks and as years passed with Ronnie when I moved further away to Riverside County.  I was fortunate that when you said you were coming,  you would come and then take me back to my other home. I did not have to experience that sadness of saying you are coming and not showing up!
Getting to know you over the years, I know you enjoyed your blues music (my knowledge of music comes from you. It was always inside the car or truck} bowling, race track, cards, and favorite game of dominos, watching the fights and wrestling.  These were your outlets!
My daddy had a serious and affectionate nature about himself and a funny side! His strong voice said it all.  When he is serious, he will call his children by their full names, Cassonja, Sonya, Keith, Bryon, Tiffany! And you would know to come. And then his affectionate side he would say, daughter or son come here.
My daddy loved us all and we loved him!
The last Great laugh I gave my daddy was that I made his youngest brother-in-law, Ronnie, his son-in-law too! He was still smiling and laughing until God called him home to rest.  We just talked about it again recently on your birthday that just passed.
We are going to miss you daddy here in the earthly rim, through the good and bad times, No matter what. We'll always remember you until we see you again in heaven.  May the Almighty Lord grant your Peaceful and Gentle soul rest while you're in heaven and make sure to hug and kiss my baby brothers for us and your love ones!  AMEN!
